ROBERT DALE TSOSIE
Born in 1960 and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Robert Dale Tsosie is 1/2 Picuris Pueblo and 1/2 Diné. In 1991 Robert received the T.C. Cannon Award for Artistic and Academic Excellence upon graduation with a AFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Since then he has earned the Best of Class, Best of Division, Judges Award, and numerous First Place awards at the Annual Santa Fe Indian Arts Market.
In 1994 Robert received the Allen Houser Award for Artistic Excellence from the State of New Mexico, as well as receiving the Fellowship Award from the Santa Fe Indian Market that same year.
In 1995 Robert won the Santa Fe Indian Market's commission to create a Lifetime Achievement Award Sculpture to honor the lifetime achievement of Native American Artists.
Robert has taught sculpture at the Poeh Arts Cultural Center in Pojoaque Pueblo, NM from 1994-2014. As well as teaching Sculpture at the Institute of American Indian Arts In Santa Fe, NM in 1997-1998.
He is also a Lifetime Member of the Indigenous Sculptor Society.
He currently lives in Ribera, NM with his wife and family.
